Utility Operations Department has standardized Gorman Rupp pumps for self- priming applications. We were able to obtain only one quote (attached) for these pumps, and since Pump & Power Equipment, LLC is the only authorized municipal/governmental distributor for Texas, it should be considered a sole source for this equipment. Item Description Price Two (2) T Series Pump Packages—Model T6C60Sc-BF w/Two (2) Control Panels included $ 37,134.00 Staff Analysis, Considerations: City staff will install and operate these pumps. Recommendation: I recommend the City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 19373 authorizing the purchase of these Sludge Return Pumps with Control Panels included from Pump & Power Equipment LLC, of Houston, Texas with a projected budgetary impact of$37,134.00. Budget Considerations: This equipment was budgeted in O&M Account No. 410-1256-532.92-00. P. R. No. 19373 4/22/16 ds RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SLUDGE RETURN PUMPS WITH CONTROL PANELS INCLUDED FOR THE UTILITY OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT FROM PUMP & POWER EQUIPMENT LLC, OF HOUSTON, TEXAS, WITH A PROJECTED BUDGETARY IMPACT OF $37,134.00. FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT NO. 410-1256-532.92-00. WHEREAS, the Utility Operations Department routinely uses various types of pumps to move sludge through the treatment process at our Wastewater Treatment Plant; and, WHEREAS, we have solicited a quote (Exhibit A) for such equipment, as delineated in our Purchasing Policy; and, WHEREAS, this purchase is authorized by Procurement Policies and Procedures Section 3-105 Sole Source Procurement, b) Compatibility—The product must match an existing brand of equipment for compatibility and is available from only one supplier; and WHEREAS, Pump & Power Equipment, LLC is the only authorized municipal/governmental distributor for Texas (Exhibit B) and should be considered a sole source for this equipment, which meets our requirements; and WHEREAS, this procurement is exempt from the bid process under Texas Local Government Code Section 252.022 (7)(D), captive replacement parts or components for equipment. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT, the City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of two (2) Sludge Return Pumps with Control Panels included from Pump & Power Equipment LLC, of Houston, Texas, with a projected budgetary impact of$37,134.00; and, THAT, an authorized representative of Pump & Power Equipment shall sign this resolution agreeing to the terms of the purchase; and, P.
