DATE: 07/14/2016 BACKGROUND: The Planning and Zoning Commission is being asked to consider a zoning district change from Single Family (SF) to Neighborhood Services (NS) for approximately 0.2032 acre of land consisting of the North 75' of Reserved Tract, Allien Place. The property is located at 3248 Procter Street (southwest corner of Procter Street and Allien Place). The abutting zoning designations are: Two Family (2F) to the north, and Single Family (SF) to the south, east and west. The purpose of this zoning request is for an insurance office. The building formerly was used as a beauty shop and before that as a blueprint firm, both as illegally non -conforming uses. On Thursday, July 7, 2016, twenty-one (2 1 ) notices were mailed to adjacent property owners within a 200 ft. radius and the notice published in the Port Arthur News on Wednesday, July 6, 2016; more than ten (10) days prior to the PAZ public hearing scheduled for July 18, 2016.
