Dale, Finance Director RE: Proposed Ordinance No. 6573 Nature of the Request: This is a companion appropriation to P.R. 19473 in which The Fire Department is requesting approval of a contract for the replacement of a vehicle,which is expected to cost$23,845.00. Recommendation: I recommend that the City Council approve Proposed Ordinance No. 6573 to authorize a budget amendment in the Fire Fund in the amount of$23,845.00. Budget Considerations: This equipment will be charged to the General Fund No.: 001-1121-522.93-00; - Motor Vehicle. P. O. NO. 6573 08/04/2016 jnp j«d ORDINANCE NO. AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2015 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2016 BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION IN THE GENERAL LIABILITY FUND BY $23,845.00 TO TRANSFER TO THE GENERAL FUND AND BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION IN THE FIRE FUND BY $23,845.00, RECOGNIZING FOR THE FUNDING OF A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT: 001-1121-522.93-00-MOTOR VEHICLES. WHEREAS, in accordance with Article XII, Section 9, of the City Charter, the City Council may make emergency appropriations from time to time; and WHEREAS, the City Council may make budget amendments for emergencies under Section 102.009 and for Municipal purposes under Section 102.010 Local Government Code; WHEREAS, on September 21, 2015, the City Council approved and adopted Ordinance 15-43 which appropriated the 2015-2016 budget; and WHEREAS, on April 19, 2016, the City Council Agenda for approved and adopted Ordinance 16-33, which appropriates a budget amendment; and WHEREAS, on August 9, 2016, P. R. No. 19473 is on the City Council Agenda for approval, which requires a formal appropriation, through a budget amendment. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the following funds/departments Budget be increased/ (decreased) as shown: General Liability Fund (Transfer-Out) $ 23,845 Section 3. That Section 13 of Ordinance 15-43 be amended to read: That there be and is hereby appropriated the sum of Sixty-nine Million, Four hundred Fifty Thousand, Six Hundred Thirty-two Dollars ($69,450,632) to General Fund for the payment of the eligible expenses. Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this Ordinance be spread upon the minutes of the City Council. Section 5. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately.
