A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TOTAL PURCHASE OF EIGHT
(8) CHEVROLET TAHOE POLICE VEHICLES FROM CALDWELL
COUNTRY CHEVROLET, CALDWELL, TEXAS, THROUGH BUYBOARD
COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT
OF $352 , 966 . 00 ; FUNDING AVAILABLE IN TWO SEPARATE
ACCOUNTS . ACCOUNT NO. 115-1101-521 . 93-00 WILL FUND
ONE COMMERCIAL VEHICLE ENFORCEMENT UNIT. ACCOUNT
NO. 625-1801-521 . 93-00 WILL FUND THE REMAINING SEVEN
POLICE VEHICLES .
WHEREAS, per Resolution No. 02-341, the City of Port
Arthur entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative
purchasing with the BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing
Program(BuyBoard) ; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department wishes to purchase
eight (8) Chevrolet Tahoe police vehicles, which will be
used to replace the patrol vehicles that have either
exceeded their mechanical limits or exported to another
City Department; and
WHEREAS, a copy of the contract pricing worksheets for
these vehicles is attached as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the City' s justification forms for vehicle
replacement are attached as Exhibit "B"; and,
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in two
separate accounts number 625-1801-521 . 93-00 and 115-1101-
521 . 93-00 .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1 . That the facts and opinions in the
preamble are true and correct.
Section 2 . That the Police Department is hereby
authorized and directed to purchase eight (8) Chevrolet
Tahoe police vehicles from Caldwell Country Chevrolet, of
Caldwell, Texas, through BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing
Program in the total amount of $352, 966. 00 .
