A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) BAUER BREATHING AIR COMPRESSOR FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT THROUGH THE H-GAC COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM FROM BAUER COMPRESSORS INC., OF NORFOLK, VIRGINIA, WITH A PROJECTED BUDGETARY IMPACT OF $34,761.00, PLUS SHIPPING, AND AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION AND TRAINING OF THE NEW COMPRESSOR BY ALLIED BREATHING AIR, LLC OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, WITH A CREDIT FOR TRADE-IN OF THE OLD COMPRESSOR IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000.00, LEAVING A PROJECTED BUDGETARY IMPACT FOR INSTALLATION AND TRAINING IN THE AMOUNT OF $34.00; FUNDING AVAILABLE IN FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCOUNT NUMBER 001-1121-522.92-00 WHEREAS, the Fire Department has found it necessary to purchase one (1) breathing air compressor in order to replace an existing breathing air compressor that has reached its useful lifetime; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 271 Subchapter D of the Local Government Code a city may participate in cooperative purchasing programs established by the State Facilities Commission for the purchase of goods at prices established through purchase contracts of the Commission; and WHEREAS, per Resolution No. 11-196, the City of Port Arthur entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with the H-GAC Cooperative Purchasing Program (H-GAC); and WHEREAS, the Fire Department along with the Purchasing Department have determined that it is most cost effective to purchase said equipment through HGAC; and WHEREAS, a copy of the contract pricing worksheet for purchase of the equipment, with a projected budgetary impact of $34,761 is attached as Exhibit "A", which does not include installation, training or shipping cost; and P.R. No. 19572 11/30/2016 Idr WHEREAS, the installation and training will be completed by Allied Breathing Air, LLC of Baytown, Texas, with a credit for trade-in of the old compressor (K18.15-E3 s/n 30237) in the amount of $1,000, leaving a projected budgetary impact for installation and training in the amount of $34; and WHEREAS, a copy of the contract pricing worksheet for installation and training of the equipment is attached as Exhibit"B"; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in account number 001- 1121-522.92-00. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. The facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the Fire Department is hereby authorized and directed to purchase one (1) breathing air compressor from Bauer Compressors Inc., of Norfolk, Virginia, through HGAC, with a projected budgetary impact in the amount of $34,791, plus shipping. Section 3. That the Fire Department is hereby authorized and directed to install the new compressor with trade-in of existing compressor by Allied Breathing Air Compressor of Baytown, Texas, with a projected budgetary impact in the amount of $34. Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this resolution shall be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
