Dale, Finance Director RE: Transit Budget Amendment Nature of the request: Requiring additional funding to pay SIMCO Enterprises, LTD for the completion of a parking lot at Transit. The project is 100% funded through --TXDOT Project-Grant Agreement Section 3339- Federal Bus-and Bus Facilities " •• Program. Although funding is available, a formal appropriation adjusting the Transit Fund budget is required. Staff Analysis, Considerations: It was been determined that an appropriation ordinance to cover the cost must be submitted for the City Council to approve. Recommendation: The attached Proposed Ordinance does just that and we are recommending that the City Council approve it as presented. Budget Considerations: As shown. AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1,2016 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2017 BY$150,900.00 FOR THE TRANSIT FUND. WHEREAS, in accordance with Article XII, Section 9, of the City Charter, the City Council may make emergency appropriations from time to time; and WHEREAS, the City Council may make budget amendments for emergencies under Section 102.009 and for Municipal purposes under Section 102.010 Local Government Code; WHEREAS, on September 29, 2016, the City Council approved and adopted Ordinance 16-60 which appropriated the 2016-2017 budget. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF _ PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. • Section 2. That the following funds/departments Budget be increased as shown: Transit Fund $150,900.00 For the completion of a parking area by SIMCO Enterprises,LTD at the Transit facilities. Attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 3. That Section 14 of Ordinance 16-60 is amended to read: That there be and is hereby appropriated the sum of Two Million, Six Hundred Twenty Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Ninety Two Dollars ($2,627,592) to the Transit Fund for the payment of the Operating Expenses, and necessary Capital Outlay for the Transit System Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this Ordinance be spread upon the minutes of the City Council. Section 5. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately.
