Nature of the request:
Attached is P.R. NO. 19669 calling for a public hearing to consider a zoning
change from "2F" Two Family to "LC" Light Commercial for an area of
approximately 0.1607 acre of Land consisting of all of Lot 7 and the North 20 feet
of Lot 8, Block 14, Boulevard Courts Addition [A.K.A. 2800 24`" Street], Port
Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas.

Recommendation:
The public hearing shall be held on Tuesday, March 14. 2017 at 9:00 a.m.

A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO
CONSIDER A ZONING CHANGE FROM TWO FAMILY TO
LIGHT COMMERCIAL FOR APPROXIMATELY 0.1607 ACRE
OF LAND CONSISTING OF ALL OF LOT 7 AND THE NORTH 20'
OF LOT 8, BLOCK 14, BOULEVARD COURT ADDITION [A.K.A.
2800 24TH STREET], CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, JEFFERSON
COUNTY,TEXAS
WHEREAS, the owner/applicant(s) — Robert Wharton — is requesting that the City of
Port Arthur consider this zoning change for the area delineated in Exhibit"A" from Two Family
"2F"to Light Commercial "LC"; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant of Chapter 211 in the Texas Local Government Code, a public
hearing must precede any zoning change, therefore,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
THAT the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
THAT the Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed this case on February 6, 2017.
THAT a public hearing to consider whether to grant this applicant the zoning change
request on approximately 0.1607 acre of Land consisting of all of Lot 7 and the North 20' of Lot
8, Block 14, Boulevard Court Addition [A.K.A. 2800 24th Street], in Port Arthur, Jefferson
County, Texas, as delineated in Exhibit "A" shall be held on March 14, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the
City Council Chambers, Fifth Floor, City Hall, 444 Fourth Street.
THAT notice of the public hearing shall be published at least fifteen days prior in the
official newspaper of the City before going to the City Council.
THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City
Council.
