Tappen, Assistant City Manager/Administration 7,/, RE: 2017 Economic Development(EDA) Grant Reimbursement I pdate Introduction: The intent of this Agenda Item is to provide the City Council an informational update regarding Staffs progress with an EDA grant reimbursement. Background: Earlier this year in March, Staff provided the City Council with information regarding the parameters of an outstanding 2012 EDA grant and potential reimbursement to the City for the renovation of the Armory building. Based on this update, Staff obtained approval to move forward with the EDA Administrators to complete the necessary legal requirements and documentation required by the EDA grant agreement for the consideration of them reimbursing the City for the renovation. At the time of the March update, the anticipated estimated reimbursement amount was $800,000.00. Staff is pleased to inform the City Council that not only did the EDA increase the percentage of reimbursement eligibility from 47.57%to 53.86%, but has issued the full grant amount of$1,000,000.00. Budget Impact: Costs associated with the Armory renovation were originally expensed from FY 2012 thru FY 2015. The EDA grant reimbursement will be accounted for in the General Fund. Recommendation: No action is necessary at this time, as the Agenda Item is an informational item only.
