RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION REQUIRING NOTICE TO CITIZENS REGARDING
THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES AS IT PERTAINS TO COMPLIANCE
WITH LITTER, SOLID WASTE AND TRASH ORDINANCES
(REQUESTED BY COUNCILMEMBER MOSES)
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it is in the public interest to inform the
citizens of Port Arthur of their responsibilities as it pertains to compliance with the litter,
solid waste and trash ordinances as delineated in the applicable sections of the City of
Port Arthur Code of Ordinances Article I Section 86 and Article II Section 34; and,
WHEREAS, compliance with the existing ordinances will improve the overall
appearance of the city and reduce litter accumulation; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council requests the City Manager to coordinate
communications to be inserted in each citizen's water bill describing citizens'
responsibilities by October 1, 2017; and,
WHEREAS, the communications to be provided in three (3) languages (English,
Spanish, and Vietnamese.)
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
Section 2. That the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to create
communications to be inserted in each citizen's water bill describing citizens'
responsibilities by October 1, 2017 in three (3) languages (English, Spanish, and
Vietnamese.)
Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the
Minutes of the City Council.
