Background: There is a need for a litter/debris maintenance machine to help maintain trash and debris in City Parks, other City facilities and right-of-ways. The purchase of this litter vacuum will improve the City's image and increase productivity. That way City employee will spend less time picking up debris in parks, streets and right-of-ways. This machine will cut man hours in half and improve the beautification of the City. Budget Impact:' The litter vacuum will cost $38,442.80. Account Number 001-1207-531.92-00 Recommendation: It is recommended that City Council approve the City Manager the purchase of a litter vacuum from Tennant Sales and Service Company of Minneapolis, MN to help maintain trash pickup in the City Parks and Right-of-Ways, as discussed and/or outline above. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO PURCHASE A LITTER VACUUM FOR PARKS & RECREATION FROM TENNANT SALES AND SERVICE COMPANY OF MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $38,442.80. FUNDING AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT NUMBER 001-1207-531.92-00 WHEREAS, there exists a need for a litter maintenance equipment for maintain the trash in City Parks and Right-of Ways; and, WHEREAS, the Purchasing Division solicited quotes for litter collection equipment, as delineated in our Purchasing Policy, and two (2) quotes were received; and, WHEREAS, Tennant Sales And Service Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is the lowest and most responsive quote (See Bid Tabulation and quote attached as Exhibit"A"); and, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the City Council deems it is in the best interest of the City to authorize the purchase of the litter vacuum in the amount of$38,442.80, funding being available in account 001-1207-531.92-00. Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
