RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING AN INTERIM CITY MANAGER FOR THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR AND ESTABLISHING THE TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT
WHEREAS, the position of City Manager for the City of Port
Arthur, Texas, will become vacant November 21, 2017 ; and
WHEREAS, Article V, of the Charter of the City of Port Arthur,
Texas provides that in the absence of the City Manager the City
Council of the City of Port Arthur shall designate some qualified
individual to perform the duties of the office to be known as the
Acting/Interim City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Arthur, Texas,
desires to make such designation via appointment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Arthur, has
found an individual whom it deems to meet the requirements of
Section I, Article V, of the Charter of the City of Port Arthur;
therefore, eligible to assume the duties of the City Manager and to
be appointed Interim City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to appoint said individual .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are
true and correct .

Section 2 . That be and is herein
appointed as Interim City Manager for the City of Port Arthur,
Texas .
Section 3 . That the terms of employment for
as Interim City Manager are delineated in Exhibit
"A" which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference
for all purposes as though it were recited verbatim herein.
Section 4 . That said appointment shall become effective
November 22, 2017 .
Section 5 . That the Interim City Manager shall comply with
the City Charter in all respects, including performance of the
duties of the City Manager.
Section 6 . That a copy of the caption of this Resolution
be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council .
READ, ADOPTED AND APPROVED on this day of November, A.D. ,
2017, at a Meeting of the City Council of the City of Port Arthur,
Texas, by the following vote: AYES :
