Introduction:
The intent of this Agenda Item is to seek City Council's approval to purchase two (2) Ford F-
150 Crew Cab Trucks. The two (2) new utility vehicles — Ford F-150, have a competitive
purchasing quote of$22,130.00 each, totaling $44,260.00 from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas.
Background:
The two (2) new Ford F-150's will be used by the Environmental Regulatory Services Division
for frequent monitoring at wastewater treatment plants, construction sites, industrial properties,
F.O.G.(Fats/Oils/Grease)activities and oil and gas drilling sites.Inspectors routinely investigate
complaints from the public as well as respond to spills at industrial/commercial sites and/or
investigate fish kills.
Budget Impact:
The two (2) new Ford F-150 utility vehicles have a competitive purchasing quote for option 3
of$22,130.00 each, totaling $44,260.00 from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas, and will be paid
out of Account No. 625-1801-532.93-01, Motor Vehicles.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that City Council approve Interim City Manager to purchase the two(2)Ford
F-150 Crew Cab Utility Vehicles, as discussed and/or outlined above.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
TWO (2) FORD F-150 CREW CAB TRUCKS FOR THE
WATER UTILITIES DEPARTMENT - REGULATORY
SERVICE DIVISION FROM SILSBEE FORD OF SILSBEE,
TEXAS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $22,130.00 EACH FOR A
TOTAL OF $44,260.00; FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IN
UTILITY OPERATIONS ACCOUNT NO. 625-1801-532.93-01,
MOTOR VEHICLES.
WHEREAS, the Utility Operations Department routinely uses trucks to support
environmental maintenance operations and programs for Water Utilities for residential,
commercial, and industrial users of City of Port Arthur; and,
WHEREAS, on September 28, 2017, the City Council approved and adopted 2017-2018
budget that included the purchase of two (2) new vehicles for Utility Operations Department -
Regulatory Services; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Division administered a competitive bid process and opened
bids from ten (10) different vendors for V2 Ton Crew Cab Trucks for City of Port Arthur, as
delineated in our Purchasing Policy with nine (9) vendors submitting bids and one (1) not
entering a bid; and,
WHEREAS, Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas, through competitive bid process, provided
the quote attached as Exhibit"A" (option 3), which meets our specifications; and,
WHEREAS, funds were budgeted and available for this purchase in Utility Operations,
account number 625-1801-532.93-01, Motor Vehicles.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF
PORT ARTHUR:
THAT,the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct; and,
