No. 20431 rescinding Resolution No. 18-330 in its entirety, which authorized the purchase of three thousand 96 Gallon Automated Refuse Carts from IPL, Inc. of Forsythe, Georgia in the amount of$146,400. Background: On August 14, 2018, the City Council approved Resolution No. 18-330, which authorized the purchase of 3,000 automated garbage carts from IPL, Inc. of Forsyth, Georgia in the amount of $146,400. Although the committee had IPL, Inc. as the highest ranked proposal, it was discovered that errors were made in the evaluation. Purchasing had the committee re- evaluate the proposals, and IPL, Inc. was not the highest ranked. Purchasing is recommending that the City Council rescind Resolution No. 18-330. Budget Impact: No Impact Recommendation: Public Works is requesting City Council approve P.R. No. 20431 rescinding Resolution No. 18-330 in its entirety, which authorized the purchase of three thousand 96 Gallon Automated Refuse Carts from IPL, Inc. of Forsythe, Georgia in the amount of$146,400. A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 18-330 IN ITS ENTIRETY, WHICH AUTHORIZED THE PURCHASE OF THREE THOUSAND 96 GALLON AUTOMATED REFUSE CARTS FROM IPL, OF FORSYTHE, GEORGIA IN THE AMOUNT OF $146,400.00 FOR THE SOLID WASTE RESIDENTIAL DIVISION WHEREAS, on August 14, 2018, per Resolution No. 18-330, the City Council authorized the purchase of three thousand automated garbage carts from IPL, Inc. of Forsyth, Georgia in the amount of$146,400; and WHEREAS, it was discovered that errors were made in the evaluation matrix by the committee, and Purchasing had the committee re-evaluate the proposals and IPL, Inc. was not the highest ranked; and WHEREAS, as a result of the re-evaluations, Purchasing recommends the City Council rescind the award to IPL, Inc. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR,TEXAS: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That Resolution No. 18-330 is hereby rescinded in its entirety. Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
