R. 20436 Introduction: Approval of Proposed Resolution No. 20436 authorizing the purchase of a Kubota M7060HDC tractor from Kubota Tractor Corporation of Grapevine, Texas,through Buyboard with a projected budgetary impact of$49,231.23. Background: This purchase is for the replacement of unit#1398, a 2000 New Holland Slope Mower, which was damaged due to flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey. Initially this mower was utilized solely by the Public Works Drainage Division but was later transferred to the Parks and Recreation Department. This new tractor will be used by Public Works Department Drainage Division for the maintenance and repairs of the City's stormwater drainage system. A quote was received from Kubota Tractor Corporation of Grapevine, Texas through Beaumont Tractor. This tractor will be used to clear high grass from drainage ditches to allow for proper water flow. Budget Impact: City funds are provided in account numbers 147-2300-901.92-00, Emergency Management Fund—Equipment, Project No. 082617. Recommendation: It is recommended that City Council authorize the City Manager to approve P. R. 20436, as discussed and/or outlined above. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A KUBOTA TRACTOR FROM KUBOTA TRACTOR CORPORATION OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, UNDER BUYBOARD CONTRACT NO. 515-16 AND NO. 529-17, REPLACING UNIT #1389, A NEW HOLLAND SLOPE MOWER, DAMAGED DUE TO HURRICANE HARVEY, FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DRAINAGE DIVISION, WITH A PROJECTED BUDGETARY IMPACT OF $49,231.23; FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT FUND — EQUIPMENT ACCOUNT NO. 147-2300-901.92-00, PROJECT NO. 082617. WHEREAS, Hurricane Harvey destroyed the majority of the City of Port Arthur's fleet, including unit#1398—a 2000 New Holland Slope Mower; and, WHEREAS, the Public Works Drainage Division and Parks and Recreation Department used this mower in maintaining stormwater ditches throughout the City; and, WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is recommending that the city Council authorize the purchase of a Kubota M7060HDC tractor from Kubota Tractor Corporation of Grapevine, Texas through Buyboard cooperative pricing, for the Drainage Division; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 271, Subchapter D, of the Local Government Code, a city may participate in cooperative purchasing programs established by the State Facilities Commission for the purchase of goods at prices established through purchase contracts of the Commission for the purchase contracts of the Commission; and, WHEREAS, per Resolution No. 02-341, the City of Port Arthur entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with the Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing Program; and, WHEREAS, the Kubota M7060HDC tractor would be utilized in the Public Works Drainage Division for maintenance of the City's stormwater drainage system; and, P.R.20436 09/11/18 aw WHEREAS, a copy of the contract pricing worksheet for this equipment is attached as Exhibit"A"; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT, the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct; and, THAT, the City Council authorizes the purchase of a Kubota M7060HDC tractor from Kubota Tractor Corporation of Grapevine, Texas, through Buyboard cooperative pricing, in the amount of$49,231.23; and, THAT, funding is available in the Emergency Management Fund — Equipment account no. 147-2300-901.92-00, Project No. 082617; and, THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
