UPDATE 2018 First and Second Quarter Report 1 Background Legacy CDC is a nonprofit organization that was created in 2006 Its initial purpose was to work with at-risk children to address issues that prevented them from thriving Found that housing instability was the main issue for most low to moderate income families In 2009, LCDC sought first funding for affordable housing activities Has served as a CHDO since 2010 in Orange, Beaumont, Port Arthur and the State of Texas 2 Our Mission: “Building strong families…leaving a legacy” Legacy Community Development Corporation is dedicated to providing housing opportunities, education, supportive services and referrals to create stable and self-sufficient families. 3 HOUSING & SUPPORTIVE SERVICES 4 HOUSING SERVICES COUNSELING SERVICES PROVIDED CREDIT FINANCIAL AND BUDGETING HOMEBUYER CERTIFICATION RENTAL SERVICES TENANTS USE RENTAL PROGRAM AS A TRANSITION TO HOMEOWNERSHIP MUST PARTICIPATE IN COUNSELING SERVICES SCATTERED SITE AND MULTIFAMILY UNITS AVAILABLE 5 MULTIFAMILY RENTAL PROGRAM 80 UNIT TAX CREDIT PROJECT AUBURN SQUARE APARTMENTS 6 Homeownership Program Client Data and Accomplishments 140 clients on waiting list 87 clients have received homebuyer education certification training 10 clients in credit repair program 1 house sold during this reporting period 5 homes under construction Next Phase: 7 units 15 additional units to be completed by April, 2019 7 1100 6th Street 8 9 10 11 TIMELINE FOR COMPLETION 12 DISASTER RECOVERY COMMUNITY PROGRAMS FOR RECOVERY (CPR) Breathing new life into impacted communities in Jefferson, Hardin and Orange County. Ensuring long-term engagement by serving on unmet needs Boards.
