Background: Miller Uniforms in a vendor of police uniforms. They are part of the Texas Buyboard cooperative purchasing program under contract#524-17. Monies were budgeted in the FY19 City of Port Arthur budget for such purchases pursuant to the anticipated purchase needs of the police department. Budget Impact: Funds are available under accounts 001-1101-521.26-00. Recommendation: It is recommended that City Council approve the City Manager to authorize purchases through Miller Uniforms under Buyboard contract for police uniforms with the estimated budgetary impact of$30,250, as discussed and/or outline above. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE UNIFORM ITEMS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FROM MILLER UNIFORMS & EMBLEMS OF AUSTIN, TEXAS, THROUGH BUYBOARD CONTRACT NO. 524-17 , WITH A BUDGETARY IMPACT OF $30 , 250 . FUNDS AVAILABLE UNDER 001-1101-521 .26-00 . WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Texas Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as Texas Buyboard, as an alternative to formal bid process; and WHEREAS , pursuant to Resolution No. 02-341, the City of Port Arthur entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with Texas Buyboard; and WHEREAS, Miller Uniforms is part of the Buyboard cooperative purchasing program under contract #524-17 ; and WHEREAS, Miller Uniforms is a provider of police uniforms; and WHEREAS, funds are available in account 001-1101-521 . 26-00 . NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1 . That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct . Section 2 . That the City Council hereby authorizes purchases through Miller Uniforms under Buyboard Contract No. 524-17 for police uniforms with a projected budgetary impact of $30, 250 . Section 3 .
