Date: 4-16-19 To: Rebecca Underhill, Interim City Manager From: Donald Stanton, Interim Director of Water Utilities RE: PR No. 20809 - Vertical Turbine Pumps for Main Plant Trickling Filter Lift Station Nature of Request The Water Utilities Department, Wastewater Treatment Division, realizes it is absolutely necessary to replace two (2)Vertical Turbine Pumps for the Trickling Filter Lift Station. The lowest priced bid that met our specifications was from Pump Wrxs & Controls, LLC, of Pearland, Texas, in the amount of $23,403.00 for one Vertical Turbine Pump—and a total of $46,806.00 for the required two (2)pumps, from Acct. No. 410-1256-532.92-00 (Equipment). Staff Analysis, Consideration: None. Recommendation: I recommend that the City Council approve Proposed Resolution No. 20809, authorizing the purchase of two (2) Vertical Turbine Pumps for the Main Plant Trickling Filter Lift Station, from Pump Wrxs & Controls, LLC of Pearland, Texas, in the total projected budgetary impact of $46,806.00. Budget Considerations The Vertical Turbine Pumps (2) for Wastewater Treatment Main Plant Trickling Filter Lift Station will be utilized in the Wastewater Treatment Division and funds are available in Account No. 410-1256-532.92-00 (Equipment). A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) — VERTICAL TURBINE PUMPS TO BE USED FOR THE WATER UTILITIES DEPARTMENT, WASTEWATER TREATMENT DIVISION, FROM PUMP WRXS & CONTROLS, LLC, OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, WITH A PROJECTED BUDGETARY IMPACT OF $46,806.00, FROM WATER UTILITIES DEPARTMENT, WASTEWATER TREATMENT DIVISION ACCOUNT NO. 410-1256-532.92-00 (EQUIPMENT). WHEREAS, the Director of Water Utilities is responsible for the Wastewater Treatment Plants; and, WHEREAS, the Wastewater Treatment Division is in need of two (2) vertical turbine pumps for the Trickling Filter Lift Station; and, WHEREAS, the lowest priced bid that met our specifications was from Pump Wrxs & Controls, LLC, of Pearland, Texas (see bid tabulation marked as Exhibit"A"); and, WHEREAS, the purchase of two (2) — Vertical Turbine Pumps for the Trickling Filter Lift Station is a necessary purchase; and, WHEREAS, the cost of two (2) Vertical Turbine Pumps $46,806.00, with funds available in Account No. 410-1256-532.92-00; and, WHEREAS, the installation of these pumps is critical to the plant being re-rated; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT,the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct; and, THAT, City Council hereby approves the purchase of two (2) — Vertical Turbine Pumps from Pump Wrxs & Controls, LLC, of Pearland, Texas, in the amount of $46,806.00, quote attached as Exhibit"B".
