No. 21063 Skid Steer Loader Purchase Introduction: The intent of this Agenda Item is to request the City Council's approval of P.R. No. 21063 authorizing the purchase of a skid steer loader for the Parks and Recreation Department from Kubota Tractor Corporation of Grapevine, Texas through Texas Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing in the amount of$57,305.15. Background: The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for mowing various city properties, parks and right-of-ways. The skid steer loader will help with the identifying of sidewalks as well as the lifting and hauling material away. The skid steer loader will allow us to move material, dig, aid in landscaping tasks and perform other jobs. Budgetary Impact: Funding in the amount of$57,305.15 is available for this purchase. [$27,305.15 available in Account Number 001-1207531.39 and$30,000.00 available in Account Number 001-1304-541.92-00] Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council approve P.R. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SKID STEER LOADER FROM KUBOTA TRACTOR CORPORATION OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, FOR THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT THROUGH TEXAS BUYBOARD COOPERATIVE PURCHASING IN THE AMOUNT OF $57,305.15; ($27,305.15 AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT NUMBER 001-1207-531.92-00 AND $30,000.00 AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT NUMBER 001- 1304-541.92-00) WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for mowing various city properties, parks and right-of-ways and is need of equipment to help with the maintenance of fields; and, WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Texas Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as Texas Buyboard, as an alternative to formal bid process; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 02-341, the City of Port Arthur entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with Texas Buyboard; and, WHEREAS, Kubota Tractor of Grapeview, Texas is part of the Buyboard cooperative purchasing program under contract #515-16 and #529-17 and submitted a quote for a skid steer loader in the amount of$57,305.15 attached hereto as Exhibit"A"; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the City Council deems it is in the best interest of the City to authorize the purchase of a skid steer loader from Kubota Tractor of Grapeview, Texas, through Buyboard Contract Numbers 515-16 and 529-17, in the amount of $57,305.15 ($27,305.15 available in account number 001-1207-531.92-00 and $30,000.00 available in account number 001-1304-541.92-00).
