No. 20959, Purchase a T650 T4 Bobcat Compact Track Loader Introduction: Approval of Proposed Resolution No. 20959 authorizing the purchase of a T650 T4 Bobcat Compact Track Loader from Bobcat of Beaumont of Beaumont, Texas through Texas Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing Program Contract No. 515-16, in the amount of$51,197.66. Background: The Bobcat compact tractor loader will be used in the maintenance of the City's stormwater drainage. This equipment will allow staff to access areas generally not done so in the past, i.e. cement lined ditches, allowing access for the removal of debris and excess foliage for better flow of ground water during rain events. Budget Impact: Funds are provided in account no. 625-1801-531.92-04, Capital Reserve Equipment Replacement Fund—Public Works Drainage. Recommendation: It is recommended that City Council authorize the City Manager to approve P. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A T650 T4 BOBCAT COMPACT TRACK LOADER FROM BOBCAT OF BEAUMONT OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS THROUGH TEXAS BUYBOARD COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM CONTRACT NO. 515-16 FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DRAINAGE DIVISION, IN THE AMOUNT OF $51,197.66; FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE CAPITAL RESERVE EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT FUND — PUBLIC WORKS DRAINAGE, 625-1801-531.92.04. Texas Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing Program Contract No. 515-16 WHEREAS, the Public Works Drainage Division is responsible for maintenance of the City's stormwater drainage; and, WHEREAS, a Bobcat Compact Track Loader would assist staff in accessing levees and cleaning cement lined ditches allowing for stormwater to be properly channeled during rain events in an effort to prevent flooding; and, WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Texas Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as Texas Buyboard, as an alternative to formal bid process; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 02-341, the City of Port Arthur entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with Texas Buyboard; and, WHEREAS, Bobcat of Beaumont of Beaumont, Texas, is part of the Buyboard cooperative purchasing program under contract#515-16 and submitted a quote attached as Exhibit "A"; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT, the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct; and, THAT, the City Council authorizes the purchase of a T650 T4 Bobcat Compact Track Loader, in the amount of$51,197.66; and, THAT, funding is available in the Capital Reserve Equipment Replacement Fund—Public Works Drainage account no. 625-1801-531.92-01; and, P.R.20959 10/11/19 aw THAT. a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
