Williams, Director of Human Resources RE: A Resolution Approving a Property Damage Settlement in the Amount of$27,625.00 for Damages to City of Port Arthur Equipment Services Unit#2314 Nature of the request: On September 19, 2019, Equipment Services Unit #2314 was driven in high water damaging the engine in the unit. TML has offered the City a settlement of $27,625.00, less the $2,500.00 deductible and less $2,100.00 for salvage, making the final settlement offer$23,025.00 (Exhibit"A" attached) Recommendation: I recommend approval of Proposed Ordinance No. 6818 authorizing the property damage settlement against TML for damage sustained to Equipment Services unit #2314 (2019 Ford Super Duty F350 XL). TML has offered to settle the claim for $27,625.00, less the $2,500.00 deductible and $2,100.00 for salvage, making the final settlement offer $23,025.00. This is considered a fair and reasonable settlement. Budget Considerations: The funds received will be deposited in the Miscellaneous Income/Insurance Proceeds account,#625-0000-369.85-00.
