RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A NEGOTIATING TEAM UNDER
CHAPTER 174 OF THE TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE
ANNOTATED, TO CONDUCT COLLECTIVE BARGAINING WITH THE
BARGAINING AGENT OF THE PORT ARTHUR POLICE
ASSOCIATION OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR POLICE
DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City Manager has received a letter from the Port Arthur Police
Association to engage in collective bargaining, as denoted in Exhibit "A".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
THAT, the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
THAT, pursuant to Chapter 174 of the Texas Local Government Code Annotated, the
following persons are hereby designated to conduct collective bargaining on behalf of the City
with representatives of the Port Arthur Police Association, and the bargaining agent of the Police
Officers of the City of Port Arthur Police Department are as follows: City Manager, Director of
Human Resources, Director of Finance, Police Chief, and City Attorney.
THAT,the City Manager is hereby authorized to designate a chief spokesperson.
THAT, the City Manager is also hereby authorized to provide a suitable place for the
collective bargaining sessions, and to provide such supporting City personnel as needed by the
City negotiating team.
THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City
Council.

the collective bargaining process between the City of Port Arthur and the Port Arthur Police
Association in accordance with Article 2 Section 2 of the contract.
