RESOLUTION NO .
A RESOLUTION AS IT PERTAINS TO THE FORMATION OF AN AD-HOC
ADVISORY COMMITTEE KNOWN AS "PORT ARTHUR' S CORE :
COMMITTEE ON REOPENING THE ECONOMY" AND THE APPOINTMENT
OF MEMBERS THEREOF (REQUESTED BY MAYOR BARTIE)
WHEREAS, due to the disaster declaration that has been issued
by the State of Texas as a result of the novel coronavirus (COVID-
19) and the imminent threat that it poses to all citizens, numerous
social distancing restrictions and business restrictions and/or
closures were put in place to protect human life; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Bartie has proposed the formation of Port
Arthur' s CORE an ad-hoc advisory committee for the reopening of the
economy; and
WHEREAS, the committee will study and make recommendations, in
consultation with health officials for the safe reopening of Port
Arthur businesses; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interests of the citizens
that the Mayor and each Councilmember shall appoint a Port Arthur
citizen to serve on Port Arthur' s CORE in preparation of reopening
the city and community in an effective and gradual manner.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1 . That the facts and opinions in the preamble
are true and correct .

Section 2 . That an ad-hoc advisory committee known as
"Port Arthur' s CORE" is hereby formed to assist with the City' s
preparation for the reopening the City and community in an
effective and gradual manner.
Section 3. That the following persons are herein
appointed:
Section 4 . That a copy of the caption of this Resolution
be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council .
