Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs has contracted with a third party
(ACS) to administer the 2"d round of housing funding from HUD for Rita Recovery. As
part of this program the TDHCA Boazd has proposed to HUD to keep the rehab limits at
perOsonsOand $75,000 for 7eo~mo ectio~eim~ts wo0uld alsorapplyto the~Sabina Pasos set6-
aside.
Port Arthur applicants that cannot be assisted with round 1 funds were turned over to
ACS on Thursday, February 7, 2008. These applicants and any new applicants will be
processed by ACS. The proposed timeline would have constriction beginning for this
round in September.
ACS is proposing to open offices in Port Arthur, Beaumont and Jasper. While not
opening an official office in Sabine Pass they have stated they will have staff onsite.
We currently have 11 rehabs that we have bid and aze in the TDHCA approval and setup
process. We have 12 reconstructs that we propose to have out to bid in the next two
weeks.
