No. 21413 Purchase of a Batwing Tractor Introduction: The intent of this Agenda Item is to request the City Council's approval of P.R. No. 21413 authorizing the purchase of a batwing tractor for the Parks and Recreation Department, as a replacement due to an accident,from Kubota Tractor Corporation of Grapevine,Texas through Texas Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing in the amount of$49,803.43. Background: The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for mowing various city properties, parks and right-of-ways. The purchase of this batwing tractor is to replace Unit #2241 that was damaged in an accident on September 27, 2019. Budgetary Impact: Funding in the amount of $49,803.43 is available for this purchase in Account Number 625- 1801-531.93-07. Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council approve P.R.No. 21413 authorizing the City Manager to purchase of a batwing tractor for the Parks and Recreation Department from Kubota Tractor Corporation of Grapevine, Texas through Texas Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing in the amount of$49,803.43. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) BATWING TRACTOR FROM KUBOTA TRACTOR CORPORATION OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, FOR THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT, AS A REPLACEMENT DUE TO AN ACCIDENT, THROUGH TEXAS BUYBOARD COOPERATIVE PURCHASING IN THE AMOUNT OF $49,803.43; FUNDING AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT NUMBER 625-1801-531.93-07 WHEREAS, on September 27, 2019, the City of Port Arthur Parks Batwing Tractor Unit #2241 (2018 Kubota tractor) was damaged when it was involved in an accident; and, WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for mowing various city properties, parks and right-of-ways and is need of equipment to help with mowing areas of the city in a short amount of time which will help to increase productivity; and, WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Texas Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as Texas Buyboard, as an alternative to formal bid process; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 02-341, the City of Port Arthur entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with Texas Buyboard; and, WHEREAS, Kubota Tractor Corporation of Grapevine, Texas is part of the Buyboard cooperative purchasing program under contract #515-16 and #529-17 and submitted a quote for batwing in the amount of$49,803.43 attached hereto as Exhibit"A"; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the City Council deems it is in the best interest of the City to authorize the purchase of one (1) Batwing Tractor from Kubota Tractor Corporation of Grapevine, Texas, in the amount of$49,803.43, funding being made available in account number 625-1801-531.93-07. Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council. P.
