The resolution would ask that the Planning and Zoning Commission call a public hearing on the property owned by the City and the EDC in the 800 block of 4~' Street for a Specific Use Permit for a laydown yard. BACKGROUND: KT Maintenance would like to acquire the property for the construction of an office, manufacturing facility and laydown yazd. This property is located in Planned Development - 11. BUDGETARY/FISCAL EFFECT: None STAFFING/EMPLOYEE EFFECT: None SUMMARY: Councilmember has requested that this Resolution be approved 1 P. R. No. 14584 2/22/08 dlov RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION AS IT PERTAINS TO REQUESTING THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TO CALL A PUBLIC HEARING AS TO CONSIDER A ZONING CHANGE AS TO PROPERTY THE CITY AND THE EDC HAS AN INTEREST IN THAT IS ADJACENT TO 4~ STREET (REQUESTED BY COUNCILMEMSERS LEWIS AND FLOOD) WHEREAS, the City has an interest in Urban Renewal Agency Disposal Tract 2-1 (62,8.58 square feet) and in Disposal Tract 2-3 (37,513 square feet), due to the automatic reverter clause as also described in Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation obtained the middle tract as described in Exhibit "B" and deeded the tracts to Tres Caballeros; and WHEREAS,. the project with Tres Caballeros was not successful, and Tres Caballeros. returned the property to the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation as described in Exhibit "C", and; y~uFnc~ the City Council desires that the Planning and Zoning Commission call a public hearing as to consider a zoning change on the property; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS: Section 1: That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. That subject to the approval of the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation's Board of Directors, the Planning and Zoning Commission is herein requested to call a public hearing as to consider a zoning change on the property described in Exhibit "A" and "B" as to allow for the outside storage of equipment and ancillary parts for their fabrication facility.
