RE: P.R. 21435 — Rescinding Authorization of a Homebuyer Written Agreement
Nature of the request:
The Housing Division recommends the City Council adopt Proposed Resolution 21435 rescinding
Resolution No. 20-033 in its entirety.
Staff Analysis/Considerations:
The property selected at 1020 6th Street by eligible homebuyer is no longer available.Eligible homebuyer
selected a new property location at 1018 5th Street.
Resolution No. 20-033 authorized the execution of a homebuyer's written agreement to receive up to
$30,000 for the purchase of a newly constructed home located at 1020 6th Street, Port Arthur, Texas,the
City's Homebuyer Assistance Program.
The property selected at 1020 6th Street by eligible homebuyer is no longer available.Eligible homebuyer
selected a new property location at 1018 5th Street.
Recommendation:
The Housing Division recommends the City Council adopt Proposed Resolution 21435 rescinding
Resolution No. 20-033 in its entirety.

RESOLUTION NUMBER
A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 20-033 IN
ITS ENTIRETY, WHICH AUTHORIZED THE EXECUTION OF
A HOMEBUYER'S WRITTEN AGREEMENT FOR THE
PURCHASE OF 1020 6TH STREET, PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS
THROUGH THE CITY'S HOMEBUYER'S ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City Council, by its adoption of Resolution Number 19-226, (authorizing
submission of the 2019 Action Plan) has obligated itself to provide assistance to low and
moderate income persons/families; and,
WHEREAS, a homebuyer was identified and certified to receive up to $30,000.00 in
down payment assistance and closing fees associated with the purchase of a home located at
1020 6th Street, Port Arthur, Texas, from the City's Homebuyer Assistance Program; and,
WHEREAS, the property selected at 1020 6th Street by eligible homebuyer is no longer
available, so therefore, the eligible homebuyer selected a new property location at 1018 5th
Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it is appropriate to rescind Resolution No. 20-033
in its entirety.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1. THAT, the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
Section 2. THAT, Resolution No. 20-033 is hereby rescinded in its entirety.
Section 3. THAT, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread up the minutes
of the City Council.
