AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR AMENDING CHAPTER 70, PARKS AND RECREATION, ARTICLE II CONDUCT IN PUBLIC PARKS, SECTION 60 TRAFFIC TO PROVIDE FOR THE REGULATION OF VEHICLES IN PUBLIC PARKS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION BY FINE NOT TO EXCEED $500.00, EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, Chapter 70 of the Code of Ordinances sets forth provisions related to the regulation of City Parks; and WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Port Arthur to amend the Parks and Recreation Ordinance as it pertains to traffic and the regulation of vehicles within public parks. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That Chapter 70, Article II, Section 60 of the Code of Ordinances as it pertains to Traffic and the Regulation of Vehicles within city owned parks, in substantially the same form as attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are herein repealed to the extent of the conflict. Section 4. That this being an Ordinance requiring publication twice in the official newspaper. Section 5. That this Ordinance shall be effective upon final publication. s.ipa6873 Section 6. That a copy of the caption of this Ordinance be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council. The opening and closing hours for each individual park are posted for public notice. No vehicle shall be permitted in a city park after hours. Privately-owned commercial vehicles shall not be allowed in a city park at any time, unless a permit has been issued by the Parks Director or her Designee.
