AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE III (CITIZEN'S PIPELINE
ADVISORY COMMITTEE), SECTION 14-71 (CREATED) OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR
WHEREAS, the Code of Ordinances created a Citizen's Pipeline Advisory Committee;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the November 8, 2016 Special Election, the composition of the
City Council changed to a Mayor and six (6) Councilmembers beginning in May of 2018; and
WHEREAS, in order to effectively administer the duties of the Citizen's Pipeline
Advisory Committee, the City Council desires to amend Section 14-71, as delineated in Exhibit
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct.
Section 2. That Article III, Section 14-71 of the Code of Ordinances be amended as
denoted in the attached "Exhibit A."
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately.
Section 4. That a copy of the caption of this Ordinance be spread upon the minutes
of the City Council.

EXHIBIT "A"
ARTICLE III. - CITIZEN'S PIPELINE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Sec. 14-71. - Created.
There is created a citizen's pipeline advisory committee of the city, and such committee shall consist
of fline-seven members, all of whom shall be resident citizens and qualified voters of this city.
(1) Such members of the citizen's pipeline advisory committee shall serve without pay or
compensation and shall be appointed by resolution, duly passed by a majority vote of the city
council. The members shall be nominated by the corresponding numbered council person,
with the ainth-seventh member being appointed by the mayor.
(2) The term of office of such citizen's pipeline advisory committee shall be for three years.
