Date: March 6, 2008
Attached is P. R. No. 14591 authorizing that the May 6, 2008
regularly scheduled Council Meeting date be changed to May 7,
2008 (Requested by Mayor Prince). This change is being requested
because the last day of early voting for the City of Port Arthur
is May 6, 2008. Therefore, a temporary change of the meeting
date may be more convenient for the public.

A RESOLIITION AIITHORIZING THAT THE MAY 6, 2008
REGIILARLY SCHEDIILED COIINCIL•MEETING DATE BE
CHANGED TO MAY 7, 2008 (REQIIESTED BY MAYOR
PRINCE)
WHEREAS, per Section 2-51 (c) of, .the Code of Ordinances,"a
Council Meeting day can be changed upon a duly adopted motion of
the City Council with a finding that a temporary change is
necessary or is more convenient to conduct public business; and,
WHEREAS, the, last day of early voting for the City of Port
Arthur is May 6, 2008; and,
WHEREAS, there is a scheduled Council Meeting on May 6, 20b8,
and a temporary change of the meeting date. may be more convenient

for the public; and
WHEREAS, the May 6, 2008 Tuesday Council Meeting date can be
changed to Wednesday, May 7, 2008, for the convenience of the
public; and,
WHEREAS, the time of the regular meeting, 5:30 p.m., shall
remain the same.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COIINCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT ARTHIIR, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are
true and correct-
Section 2. That the Regular Council Meeting scheduled

for Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. is changed to Wednesday,
May 7, 2008 at 5:30 p.m.
Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution
be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
READ, ADOPTED AND APPROVED on this day of
A.D., 2008, at a Meeting of the City Council of
the City of Port Arthur, Texas, by the following vote:
