RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCCEPTANCE OF
THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 648 FOURTH STREET (OLD
MARITIME BUILDING) FROM .THE PORT ARTHUR
HISTORICAL SOCIETY
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors for the Port Arthur Historical
Society voted' to donate the property located at 648 Fourth Street
to the City of Port Arthur as denoted in Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of Port
Arthur that the City accept the donation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are
true and correct.
Section 2. That the City Manager is herein authorized to
accept the donation from the Port Arthur Historical Society of
the property at 648 Fourth Street (Old Maritime Building) in
substantially the same form as attached hereto as Exhibit "B"
Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution
be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
READ, ADOPTED AND APPROVED on this day of
A.D., 2008, at a Meeting of the City Council of
the City of Port Arthur, Texas, by the following vote: AYES:

That the Port Arthur Historical Society, Port Arthur,
County of Jefferson; State of Texas, for and in
consideration of the sum of TEN AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($10.00)
and other good `and valuable consideration to me, paid by
the grantees herein named, the receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged., have GRANTED, SOLD AND CONVEYED, and by these
presents do GRANT, SELL AND CONVEY unto the City of Port
Arthur, County of Jefferson, State of Texas, the following
described real property in Jefferson County, Texas, to-wit:
• Lot Number Twelve (12) in Block Number One
Hundred Fifty-One (151) of City of Port Arthur,
Jefferson County, Texas, as the same appears upon
the map or plat thereof, on file and of record in
Vol. 1, Page 50, Map Records of Jefferson County,
Texas, Save and Except the North Twenty Feet (N.
20') which was conveyed to Urban Renewal Agency
of Port Arthur by Deed recorded in Vol. 1561 Page
12'7 Deed Records of Jefferson County, Texas. (648
4th Street)
This Deed is executed, delivered and accepted subject
to ad valorem taxes for the current and all subsequent
years; taxes for subsequent assessments for the current and
prior-years due to changes in land usage, ownership, or
both; all statutes, zoning laws, ordinances, rules and
z.maritime warranty deed
regulations of municipal and and/or other governmental
authorities, including state and federal, utility district
assessments, if any, applicable to and enforceable against
the above described property; and all valid easements,
restrictions, mineral and/or royalty reservati6ns and
maintenance fund liens, if any, applicable to and
enforceable against the above described property, as shown
by the Records of the County Clerk of the County in which
said real property is located.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said premises, together with
all and singular the rights and appurtences thereto in
anywise belonging, unto the said Grantees, their heirs and
assigns, forever; and I do hereby bind myself, my heirs and
assigns, forever; and I do hereby bind myself, .my heirs,
executors and administrators, to WARRANT AND FOREVER DEFEND
all and singular the said premises unto the said Grantees,
their heirs and assigns, against every person whomsoever
lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.
