WATSON, DIRECTOR OF PLANNING ~4 SUBJECT: PUBLIC HEARING ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT Z08-09 (DALEY) DATE: 04/04/08 REQUEST: The applicant is requesting the zoning on a .41 acre tract of land on the north side of Riley Street and East of Texas Ave. be rezoned from Two Family Residential to Light Commercial for the location of a storage building and parking lot. BACKGROUND: The applicant proposes to locate a storage building on this property. In addition, he will have a parking lot. The parking lot will not be used for commercial truck parking. PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: The Planning and Zoning Commission met on Monday, March 17, 2008 and considered this request. They recommended that this azea be rezoned as a Planned Development that would limit the additional uses to those proposed, i.e. a storage building and pazking lot. PUBLIC COMMENT: 13 property owners were notified of the proposed zoning change.
