otice is hereby given in accordance with the revised Civil Statutes and
the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Port Arthur that the City Council of
the City of Port Arthur will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 8,
2Q08 at 7:00 p.m. in the Port Arthur City Hall Council Chamber, 444 4~' Street,

REQUEST:
The applicant is requesting the zoning on a .41 acre tract of land on the north side of
Riley Street and East of Texas Ave. be rezoned from Two Family Residential to Light
Commercial for the location of a storage building and parking lot.
BACKGROUND:
The applicant proposes to locate a storage building on this property. In addition, he will
have a parking lot. The parking lot will not be used for commercial truck parking.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
The Planning and Zoning Commission met on Monday, March 17, 2008 and considered
this request. They recommended that this azea be rezoned as a Planned Development that
would limit the additional uses to those proposed, i.e. a storage building and pazking lot.
