O. 5292 which is an Ordinance changing the number of Fire Fighter positions from 40 to 39 and adding a Deputy Fire Chief position. This was requested by the Fire Chief. AN ORDINANCE DELINEATINO THE NUMBER AUTHORIZED CIVIL SERVICE POSITIONS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE WHEREAS, the Fire Department has the following Civil Service positions available in the Fire Department: CLASSIFICATION Fire Fighter Fire Engineer Fire Captain Ass't. Fire Marshal Fire Marshal Battalion Chief Deputy Fire Chief TOTAL NUMBER 40 30 27 1 1 4 0 103 WHEREAS, the City Council deems it appropriate to decrease the number of fire fighter positions; and WHEREAS, the delete the fire fighter vacancy City Council deems it appropriate to (position) that was created in August 2002; and WHEREAS, the City Council also deems it appropriate to add a Deputy Fire Chief as further delineated in Article 39 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and Section 143.014 Local Government Code. z.~292 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR= Section 1.
