[ recommend- that the City Council adopt Proposed Resolution No. 14678; authorizing Project. Amendment No. 50-000382.1 ao the Texas .Parks and Wildlife Deparment (TPWD) Outdoor.. Grant. BACKGROUND: The City of Port Arthur was-one (1) of only ten (10) recipients statewide to receive a Texas Parks and Wildlife .Department Outdoor Grarit,. and the -only city to. receive an Outdoor and Indoor Grant. This grant will ,further enhance City efforts to enrich the "quality of life'.'-ftir citizens. Project Amendment No. 50-0000382.1 to the TPWD Outdoor Grant allows. reimbursement for - up to $8;000.00-for "pte-agreement costs incurred From. July 3l, 2007 to 'the date of project approval". BUDGETARY/FISCAL EFFECT: Costs-incurred by the City from 7uly 31, 2007 to the date.of project approval will be eligible for reimbursement. The project Brant amount remains unchanged. ' A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROJECT AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT OUTDOOR GRANT IN THE AMOUNT ' OF $400,000.00 AUTHORIZED BY RESOLUTION N0.08-IOb. WHEREAS,-the City Council pursuant to Resolution No. 08-106 accepted an award for a Texas Pazks and Wildlife Department Outdoor Crrant in the amount of $400,000.00 for the City ofPort Arthur; and, WHEREAS, the Texas Pazks and Wildlife Department, has' issued Project., ' Amendment No. 50-000382.1 to said grant; and, WHEREAS, said Project Amendment No.l provides "Pre-agreement costs incurred from July 31, 2007 to the date of project approval in the amount not to exceed $8,000.00 shall be allowable." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE'CITY COUNCIL OF. ' THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: - THAT the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. THAT the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager and the Interim Director of Parks and Recreation to execute any and all documents associated with the acceptance of Project Amendment 50-000382.1 in substantially the same form as attached hereto as Attachment "A".
