Back round• The new trucks will be used by the Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution, and Customer Service Divisions for supporting Utilities maintenance operations, and will be replacing Wastewater Treatment Unit No. 1348, Water Distribution Unit No. 1877,and Customer Service Unit No. 1675.These vehicles are an essential part of Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution and Customer Service crews in their work of maintaining critical systems and ensuring public health and safety. Budget Impact: The Ford F-150 Extended Cab trucks have a competitive purchasing quote of$25,618.50 each, totaling$51,537.00 from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas, and the Ford F-150 Regular Cab truck has a competitive purchasing quote of$23,775.50. $25,618.50 will be paid out of Account No. 625-1801-532.93-06, Wastewater Treatment; $23,775.50 will be paid out of 625-1801-532.93- 04, Customer Service, and $25,618.50 will be paid out of 625-1801-532.93-03, Water Distribution as Fiscal 2021 Purchases. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE TWO (2) FORD F-150 EXTENDED CAB TRUCKS AND ONE (1) FORD F- 150 REGULAR CAB TRUCK FOR THE WATER UTILITIES DEPARTMENT FROM SILSBEE FORD OF SILSBEE,TEXAS THROUGH THE GOODBUY COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM,PRODUCT PRICING NO.20 8F000,IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF$75,312.50; FISCAL 2021 FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT NOS. 625-1801-532.93-06, WASTEWATER TREATMENT, 625-1801-532.93-04, CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND 625-1801-532.93-03,WATER DISTRIBUTION. WHEREAS, Utility Operations Department routinely uses trucks to support maintenance operations for Water Utilities for Citizens, Businesses, and Industries of City of Port Arthur; and, WHEREAS, Wastewater Treatment Division's truck Unit No. 1348, Water Distribution's trucks Identification No. 1877, and Customer Service Division's truck Identification No. 1675 have reached the end of their useful life and need replacing; and, WHEREAS, these vehicles are an essential part of Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution, and Customer Service crews in their work of maintaining critical systems and ensuring public health; and, WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Texas Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as Goodbuy Purchasing Cooperative of the Education Service Center, Region 2, as an alternative to the formal bid process; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 18-180, the City of Port Arthur entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with the Goodbuy Cooperative Purchasing Program ("Goodbuy"); and WHEREAS,the Water Department received Goodbuy quote from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee, Texas for three (3) '/2 Ton Trucks for City of Port Arthur, as delineated in our Purchasing Policy; and, P. NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT, City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of two (2) Ford F-150 Extended Cab trucks and one(1) Ford F-150 Regular Cab truck from Silsbee Ford of Silsbee,Texas,through the Goodbuy Cooperative Purchasing program, in a total amount of$75,312.50 from FY 2021; and, THAT,a copy of the caption of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of City Council.
