WATSON, DIRECTOR OF PLANNING ~ V sus)ECT: WESTSIDE REDEVELOPMENT DATE: 0/17/08 The City Manager and I met with Byron Mazshall and John Hail on Thursday, April lb and discussed the status of Westside redevelopment. The City Council has appointed its 6 members to the West Port Arthur Redevelopment Corporation (WESTPARC). The Port Arthur Industrial Group (PAIG) will appoint 5 members to the boazd. Mr. Marshall will make a presentation to the PAIG on May 1 on possible boundaries of the "buffer zone". John Hall believes it will be a month to 5 weeks before the PRIG makes a decision of what they would like to propose for a buffer. At that time Mr. Mazshall would receive your comment on the proposal. In the meantime we are working with Mr. Mazshail on a housing new construction program and retail development on the Westside. 1
