"Bob"Bowers Civic Center To: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Through: Ron Burton, City Manager From: Adam J Saunders, Civic Center Dir RE: Proposed Resolution No. P.R. 21700 REQUEST: At Rosehill Manor, much repair and maintenance are needed. Some repairs have been completed, and are designated as Phase I. Additional work is needed. The next segment of work is Phase II and it will focus on exterior needs, mainly on the lower half of the building. The City Council approved Resolution Number 20-200 for Phase II work. It has been determined some additional work to the exterior is needed to complete Phase II. This additional work is the alternate #1 of the work bid for Phase II. This work is the restoration of the porte cochere (the covered entrance area for vehicles to pass through.) The restoration of this part of the manor will allow us to restore most of the exterior of the bottom half of the building. A change order for this work is needed. Change Order#2 for additional exterior work to compete Phase II in the amount of$50,100.00 will be added to the original amount of$211,000.00, bringing the total for Phase II exterior work to $261,100.00 ANALYSIS/CONSIDERATION: There are a lot of needed repairs at the building. Additional work is needed to complete Phase II. RECOMMENDATION A resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with American Restoration of Wylie, Texas for Change Order#2 to Phase II repairs and maintenance of the Rosehill Manor in the amount of$50,100.00,bringing the total for Phase II exterior work to $261,100.00. BUDGETARY AND FISCAL EFFECT Funds are available in the amount of$50,100.00 in Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund Account No. 140-1405- 551.59-00, Project No.M97908. STAFFING EFFECT None Pr21700 P.R. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR AND AMERICAN RESTORATION OF WYLIE, TEXAS, TEXAS FOR PHASE II REPAIRS TO THE ROSEHILL MANOR THAT INCREASES THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $50,100.00, BRINGING THE TOTAL FOR PHASE II EXTERIOR WORK TO $261,100.00. FUNDS AVAILABLE IN HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FUND ACCOUNT NO. 140-1405- 551.59-00 PROJECT #M97908. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 20-200, the City Council approved an agreement with American Restoration of Wylie, Texas for Phase II repairs to Rosehill Manor in the amount of$211,000.00; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that additional work is needed to complete Phase II work on the exterior of Rosehill Manor; and WHEREAS, the additional work is the restoration of the porte cochere of Rosehill Manor,thus restoring most of the bottom half of the exterior of the building; and WHEREAS, American Restoration of Wylie, Texas has submitted Change Order No. 2 for an additional work in an amount of$50,100.00; and WHEREAS, approval of Change Order No. 02 is deemed an appropriate action. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That,the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 2 with American Restoration of Wylie, Texas for Phase II repairs at the Rosehill Manor. in substantially the same form as attached hereto as Exhibit"A". Section 3. That, a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
