It is determined the current package unit that cools and heats the west side of the building has failed and is need of replacement. The duct work under the west side of the building is also in need of replacement. Industrial and Commercial Mechanical (ICM)of Beaumont, TX can do this work for$32,538.00 out of account number 001-1061-518-32-00. ANALYSIS/CONSIDERATION: The current HVAC package unit and ductwork for the west side of Rosehill Manor needs replacement. ICM of Beaumont, TX has provided a price for this work under the Buyboard cooperative contract#558- 18 in the amount of$32,538.00 out of account number 001-1061-518-32-00. RECOMMENDATION A resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Industrial and Commercial Mechanical of Beaumont,TX to replace the current HVAC package unit and ductwork for the west side of Rosehill Manor in the amount of$32,538.00. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL MECHANICAL OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS THROUGH THE BUYBOARD COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM CONTRACT NO. 558-18 TO REPLACE THE CURRENT HVAC PACKAGE UNIT AND DUCTWORK FOR THE WEST SIDE OF ROSEHILL MANOR IN THE AMOUNT OF $32,538.00. FUNDS AVAILABLE IN CIVIC CENTER ACCOUNT NUMBER 001-1061-518-32-00. WHEREAS, Rosehill Manor needs of a new HVAC package unit to replace the current failed unit for the cooling and heating of the west side of the building; and WHEREAS, Rosehill Manor needs a new ductwork system to replace the current failed system for the cooling and heating of the west side of the building; and WHEREAS, Chapter 271 of the Local Government Code allows a city, by resolution of its governing body, to participate in cooperative purchasing programs, such as Buyboard, a purchasing cooperative, as an alternative to a formal bid process; and WHEREAS, per Resolution No. 02-341, the City entered into an interlocal agreement for cooperative purchasing with the Buyboard Cooperative Purchasing Program("Buyboard"). WHEREAS, Industrial and Commercial Mechanical of Beaumont, Texas has a cooperative contract with Buyboard and has submitted a proposal in the amount of$32,580.00 (Exhibit"A"). NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. PR 21739 Section 2.
