The Zoning Ordinance requires off-street pazking for any new construction. The number
of spaces required is dependent on the proposed use of the property. Required parking
must be located within 300 feet of the structure for which it is provided. For example, a
single-family residerice requires two spaces, while a restaurant requires one space for
each three seats.. We do not require additional pazking for existing buildings constructed
before the current ordinance, even if the use changes. We also specifically exempt the
uses in PD-11 (south of 5`h Street in the Downtown area) from the off-street pazking
requirements.
While the number of spaces required may be slightly different, off-street parking is a
normal requirement of most, if not all, zoning ordinances.
