COMMENTS
For the City Council's consideration is Proposed Resolution No. 14755, which authorizes an
agreement between the City of Port Arthur and Luke Guidry, Jr. to extend the sanitary sewer system
to serve Lots 7, 8, & 9 out of Reserve "B", Stonegate Manor Section Four.
BACKGROUND
In Mazch 2007, Mr. Guidry had Reserve "B" of Stonegate Section Pour re-platted into residential
lots. Some of these lots do not have sanitary sewer available. The Utility Operations Department
provided Mr. Guidry with an estimate of costs to extend the sanitary sewer system to serve these new
lots (copy attached).
BUDGET/FISCAL EFFECT
It is proposed that we charge Mr. Guidry for materials only, and the City to absorb the costs for labor
and equipment.
STAFF/EMPLOYEE EFFECT
City crews will perfoan the installation of the sewer line.
SUMMARY

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH
LUKE GUIDRY, JR. TO CHARGE MATERIALS ONLY FOR
A SANITARY SEWER LINE EXTENSION TO SERVE LOTS
7-9, RESERVE "B", STONEGATE SECTION FOUR, CITY OF
PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, Lots 7-9, Reserve "B' ; Sfonegafe Section Four (as re-platted in March 2007)
do not currently have sanitary sewer service; and,
WHEREAS, a sanitary sewer lien is required to provide such service; and,
WHEREAS, Luke Guidry, Jr. has agreed to build three homes, of a value at least $100,000
within one (1) year; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1. That the City Manager of the City of Port Arthur is hereby authorized to
enter into an agreement to charge for materials only (per Exhibit A) for the extension of sanitary
sewer to serve Lots 7-9, Reserve "B", Stonegate Section Four, City of Poet Arthur on the conditions
that Luke Guidry, Jr. will build three homes of a value of at least $100,000 within one (1) year.
Section 2. That Luke Guidry, Jr. shall sign this Resolution.
Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of
the City Council.
