AND THE USE OF TYPE “A” AND TYPE “B” SALES TAX
ORDINANCE 05-19 City Council Placed Eight (8) Proposed Propositions
on the ballot for use of Type “A” Sales Tax to be used for various Type “B”
projects for citizens approval.
ORDINANCE 05-39 All Eight (8) Proposed Propositions were NOT
APPROVED by the voters.

ORDINANCE 06-10 The Board of Directors of the Port Arthur Economic
Development Corporation with the approval of Council, placed proposition 8
and 9 on the ballot for use of Type “A” Sale Tax in the amount of $500,000
per year for Type 4B projects to include Amateur Sports and Athletic
purposes, and Type 4B projects in the amount of $500,000 per year for
Demolition of existing structures for two (2) years with an option to renew
for two (2) additional years.

ORDINANCE 09-15 The Board of Directors of the Port Arthur Economic
Development Corporation with the approval of Council, placed a proposition
on the ballot for use of Type “A” Sale Tax in the amount of $750,000 per
year for Type 4B projects to include Demolition of dilapidated structures
and Type 4B projects in the amount of $750,000 per year for infrastructures
improvements from 7th Street to the Intercoastal Waterway and from MLK to
Lake Charles Avenue for three (3) years with an option to renew for three (3)
additional years.

on the ballot to implement a Street and Maintenance sales Tax at a rate 0f
1/8%, by reducing EDC Sales Tax by 1/8% for four (4) years.

proposition on the ballot for use of Type “A” Sale Tax in the amount of
$1,000,000 per year for three (3) years Type 4B projects to include Amateur
Sports and Athletic facilities improvements to Adams Park, Rose Hill Park
and PA Senior Citizens and, Rec Center with an option to renew for three (3)
additional years.
