Freeman, Manager of Housing &Neighborhood Revitalization RE: P.R. 21822—Amending Execution of a Homebuyer Written Agreement Nature of the request: The Housing Division recommend the City Council adopt Proposed Resolution 21822 to extend the time of previous Resolution Number 21-001, authorizing the execution of a Homebuyer Written Agreement for the purchase of 1021 Reverend Dr. Ransom Howard Street,Port Arthur,Texas 77640. Previous Resolution Number 20-001 expire March 5, 2021 and will be extended to July 5, 2021. Staff Analysis/Considerations: The City Council by authorization of Resolution Number 20-108 has obligated the City to provide homebuyers assistance to qualified persons/families of the City. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program funds and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) Program funds are allocated to the City annually to provide Homebuyers assistance activities in accordance with 24 Code of Federal Regulations Part 570 and Part 92. A homebuyer has been identified and certified and is eligible to receive up to $30,000 to assist with the purchase of a new construction home located at 1021 Reverend Dr. Ransom Howard Street, Port Arthur, Texas. The funds will be used to assist with principal buy down and closing fees associated with the purchase of a home. Recommendation: The Housing Division recommends the City Council adopt Proposed Resolution 21822 to extend the time of closing date previously approved per Resolution Number 20-001. The previous closing date expire on March 5, 2021 and will be extended to July 5, 2021. Budget Consideration Funding will be provided by the Federal CDBG Program, account number 105-1431-552.54-01, project number C46146. P. R. 21822 2/22/2021--BAF/Housing RESOLUTION NUMBER A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 21-001 AS IT PERTAINS TO THE HOMEBUYER'S WRITTEN AGREEMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF 1021 REVEREND DR. RANSOM HOWARD STREET, PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS BY EXTENDING THE DEADLINE FROM MARCH 5, 2021 TO JULY 5, 2021 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 21-001, the City Council authorized the execution of a Homebuyer's Written Agreement for the purchase of 1021 Reverend Dr. Ransom Howard Street, Port Arthur, Texas and said authorization expires on March 5, 2021; and WHEREAS, it has been requested that the City Council amend Resolution No. 21-001 to extend time for execution of the closing documents to July 5, 2021. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. THAT the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. THAT the City Council hereby amends Resolution No. 21-001 to extend the closing documents to July 5, 2021. Section 3. THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the City Council.
