2019-2020 Investments
Community Investment: More than $480,000 in contributions to
over 50 nonprofits, chambers and economic development
organization from 2019 to 2020 in the areas of:
•235 trees planted at Sea Rim State Park to provide resting spots for birds migrating; partner –
Texas Parks & Wildlife Department
•Sabine Pass Reef Restoration project to transform muddy, barren ocean floor off Sabine Pass,
Texas into a habitat-rich hub for marine life; partners: Coastal Conservation Association of
Texas and Sabine Pass Port Authority
•Donations totaling more than $80,000 to 4 local non-profits to provide for basic community
needs, during the holidays, including food, shelter and bill payment.
•Employees assemble over 400 COVID safety kits to returning students at Sabine Pass School.
Additionally, contribution to the school’s STEM initiative to purchase 3-D printers resulted in
students making COVID face masks for first responders and teachers
•New joint degree program with local high school –Wilson Early College High School and
Lamar State College –Port Arthur graduated 90 students with their high school diploma and
two-year Associates degree from college
•Scholarship awards through partnerships with NAACP, 100+ Black Coalition, LSCPA and Port
Arthur Education Foundation
