NO. 21930 — A resolution calling for a public hearing to consider a zoning change from Industrial to a Planned Development District Introduction: The intent of this Agenda Item is to request a public hearing to consider a zoning change from Industrial (I)to Planned Development District-40 (PD-40)for approximately 58.83- acres of Land (Called 58.82), part of Lots 1, 2, 3 & 8, Block 14, Range "L" and part of Lots 4 & 5, Block 14, Range "K," Port Arthur Land Company Subdivision, Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas. The purpose of this request is to allow for the construction of a Recreational Vehicle (RV) Resort per Chapter 58, Article III of the City of Port Arthur Code of Ordinance and Commercial/Retail development. Background: The Planning & Zoning Commission will review this case on May 17, 2021. Budget Impact: None Recommendation: It is recommended that City Council approve P.R. A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER GRANTING A ZONING CHANGE FROM INDUSTRIAL TO PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT - 40 FOR APPROXIMATELY 58.83-ACRES OF LAND (CALLED 58.82), OUT OF AND PART OF LOTS 1, 2, 3 & 8, BLOCK 14, RANGE "L", AND PART OF LOTS 4 & 5, BLOCK 14, RANGE "K", PORT ARTHUR LAND COMPANY SUBDIVISION, CITY OF PORT ARHTUR, JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS WHEREAS, it is being requested that City Council consider a zoning change for the area delineated in Exhibit "A" from Industrial "I" to Planned Development District - 40 "PD-40"; and, WHEREAS, pursuant of Chapter 211 in the Texas Local Government Code, a public hearing must precede any zoning change. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. THAT the Planning and Zoning Commission will review this case on May 17, 2021. THAT a public hearing to consider whether to grant the zoning change request for approximately 58.83-acres of Land (Called 58.82), out of and part of Lots 1, 2, 3 & 8, Block 14, Range "L" and part of Lots 4 & 5, Block 14, Range "K," Port Arthur Land Company Subdivision, Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas, as delineated in Exhibit "A" shall be held on June 8, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. by telephonic and videoconference. THAT notice of the public hearing shall be published at least fifteen days prior in the official newspaper of the City before going to the City Council. THAT a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
