Background: The Police and Fire Departments heavily rely on internet services for daily operations. DIR provides internet services through AT&T. A 24-month agreement is required for the service. Budget Impact: Services will be billed monthly at$1,195.04 per month. The total amount for 24 months is $28,680.96. Funds have been budgeted in Information Technology equipment account 001-09- 023-54 82-00-10-000-. Recommendation: It is recommended that City Council authorize the City Manager to approve the 24-month agreement for AT&T internet services through DIR at a monthly amount of$1,195.04 for a 24-month total of$28,680.96. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE AN AGREEMNT WITH TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION RESOURCES (DIR) FOR THE PROVISION OF AT&T INTERNET SERVICES FOR A TERM OF 24 MONTHS AT $1,195.04 PER MONTH FOR A TOTAL OF $28,680.96. FUNDING BUDGETED IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COMMUNITCATIONS ACCOUNT 001-09-023-5482-00-10-000-. WHEREAS, Police and Fire depend on internet services for daily operations; and WHEREAS, through contract DIR-TEX-AN-NG-CTSA-005, DIR can provide AT&T internet services for a term of 24 months at $1,195.04 per month for a total of$28,680.96 (see quote attached hereto as "Exhibit A"). NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That, the City Council hereby authorizes the agreement with Texas Department of Information Resources for the provision of AT&T internet service for a term of 24 months at a total amount of$28,680.96 to be paid at a monthly amount of$1,195.04. Section3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
