RE: P.R. 21967—Acceptance of a grant from the East Texas Gulf Coast Regional
Trauma Advisory Council
Introduction:
The intent of this agenda item is to seek the City Council's authorization for the Fire
Department to accept a grant from the East Texas Gulf Coast Regional Trauma Advisory
Council in the amount of$6,025.
Background:
The Port Arthur Fire Department is a member of the East Texas Gulf Coast Regional Trauma
Advisory Council. From time to time the East Texas Gulf Coast Regional Trauma Advisory
Council distributes grant funds to it members to assist their organization with equipment, PPE,
response, training and/or special program funding. On average, the Port Arthur Fire
Department receives a distribution of these grant funds, in varying amounts, from one (1) to
four(4)times a year.
Budget Impact:
There is no cash match requirement for this grant. These funds will be deposited in
Miscellaneous/Contributions - Donations Revenue Account 155-00-000-4730-00-00-000
Recommendation:
It is recommended that City Council authorize the Fire Department to accept a grant from the
East Texas Gulf Coast Regional Trauma Advisory Council in the amount of$6,025, as
discussed and/or outlined above.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
GRANT FROM THE EAST TEXAS GULF COAST REGIONAL
TRAUMA ADVISORY COUNCIL FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL
RESPONDER PROGRAM SUPPORT IN THE AMOUNT OF
$6, 025 . 00
WHEREAS, the Port Arthur Fire Department received a
check from East Texas Gulf Coast Trauma Advisory Council
for a grant for Emergency Medical Responder Support; and
WHEREAS, the East Texas Gulf Coast Regional Trauma
Advisory Council issued check number 1564 in the amount of
$6, 025. 00 attached as "Exhibit A"; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be deposited in City of Port
Arthur Account Number 155-00-000-4730-00-00-000 .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1 . That the facts and opinions in the
preamble are true and correct.
Section 2 . That the City Council directs the City
Manager to accept the grant funds .
Section 3 . That a copy of the caption of this
resolution shall be spread upon the Minutes of the City
Council .
