Hurricane Ike Damage. RECOMMENDATION We recommend the City Council authorize payment of $11,846. to The Tank Depot of San Antonio, Inc. for Two Aerobic Digester Tanks for the Sabine Pass WWTP that were destroyed during Hurricane Ike. BACKGROUND The above mentioned polyethylene tanks at the Sabine Pass WWTP were destroyed during Hurricane Ike. These tanks were used as aerobic digesters in the treatment of domestic sewage at this facility. We obtained the following three (3) bids for these tanks: Bidder 'Total Bid The Tank Depot of San Antonio, Inc. $11,846.00 San Antonio, TX Plastic-Mart.com, Inc. $15,634.51 Burnet, TX K-Tank Industrial Sales $ 9,012.88 Houston, TX The bid from K-Tank Industrial Sales is non-responsive in that it does not fit our dimensional requirements to fit on our existing foundation. The bid from The Tank Depot of San Antonio, Inc. meets our requirements and is recommended, BUDGET/FISCAL EFFECT We will apply for funding from insurance and/or FEMA for these expenses. Eligibility has not been determined at this time. Account No. 121-2300-901.92-00, project no. IKESPS will be used for this purpose. The original tanks were purchased in 1997 for $10,979. AN ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO AN EXTENSION OF THE CONSTRIICTION OF HOMES BY SHIRLEY TEMPLE AND ALICE MCCRAY WHEREAS, on February- 12, 2008, the City Council approved Ordinance No. OS-20, which authorized the conveyance of two (2) vacant lots to low and moderate income residents of the City, Shirley Temple and Alice McCray, subject to the home or homes being constructed by December 31, 2008; and WHEREAS, the City has received a written request for an extension to build the homes, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions. in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That an extension until July 1, 2009 is herein approved as to complete the construction of the homes located at 821 W. 15th Street and 210 W. 18th Street. Section 3. That by signing this Ordinance, Shirley Temple agrees that if the unit at 210 West 18th Street; is not constructed by July 1, 2009, she will convey the property back to the City of Port Arthur. Section 4. That by signing this Ordinance, Alice McCray agrees that if the unit at 821. W. 15th Street is not constructed by July 1, 2009, she will convey the property back to the City of z.po5952 Port Arthur. Section 5. That a copy of the caption of this Ordinance be spread upon the Minutes of the-City Council. Section 6. That this being an Ordinance amending an Ordinance which does not carry a penalty, and does not require publication, it shall take effect immediately from and after its passage. The Texas Department of Housing and. Community Affairs released the loan documents for these two homeowners this month. Construction can not begin until the loan documents have been executed: The loan closings are scheduled for November 12°i. If there is anything else you need, please do not hesitate to ask.
