RE: PR No. 22038 - Siddons-Martin Emergency Group Service Contract
Introduction:
The Fire Department recommends that the City Council approve Proposed Resolution No.22038
authorizing the third and final year renewal, of a contract with Siddons-Martin Emergency
Group of,Port Arthur,and Houston,Texas in a projected budgetary amount of$325,000.00. The
current contract expires on July 14, 2021. The vendor has agreed to renew for the terms outlined
in the original contract.
Background:
The Port Arthur Fire Department operates a number of fire apparatus and special service
response vehicles, the proper servicing and repair of these vehicles is necessary to ensure both
their performance dependability and their longevity. Siddons-Martin Emergency Group has
performed maintenance and repairs to the Fire Department's fleet with positive results for the
last nine years.
Budget Impact:
Funding is available in Fire/Motor Vehicle account number 001-19-047-5319-00-30-000.
Recommendation:
The Fire Department recommends approval of this resolution.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE THIRD YEAR, FINAL RENEWAL OF
THE CONTRACT WITH SIDDONS-MARTIN EMERGENCY GROUP OF PORT
ARTHUR AND HOUSTON, TEXAS, FOR PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
AND REPAIR TO FIRE DEPARTMENT FIRE APPARATUS AND OTHER
SPECIAL RESPONSE VEHICLES, WITH A PROJECTED BUDGETARY
IMPACT OF $325, 000 . 00; FUNDING IS AVAILABLE IN FIRE
DEPARTMENT MOTOR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE ACCOUNT NO. 001-19-
047-5319-00-30-000 .
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 19-228, adopted by the
City Council on June 4 , 2019, the City entered into a one-year
contract, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year
periods, with Siddons-Martin Emergency Group of Port Arthur, and
Houston, Texas, for the preventative maintenance and repair to Fire
Department fire apparatus and special response vehicles; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 20-162 , adopted by the
City Council on May 26, 2020, the City entered into a second year,
first renewal with Siddons-Martin Emergency Group with the same
terms outlined in the original agreement; and,
WHEREAS, Siddons-Martin Emergency Group and the City of Port
Arthur has mutually agreed to renew the contract for the third and
final year with the same terms outlined in the original agreement .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PORT ARTHUR:
Section 1 . That the facts and opinions in the preamble are
true and correct .
Section 2 . That the City Council hereby authorizes the
City Manager to execute the third year, final renewal of the

contract with Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, with the same terms
outlined in the original agreement .
Section 3 . That an authorized agent of Siddons-Martin
Emergency Group will sign this resolution agreeing to the terms
hereof .
Section 4 . That a copy of the caption of this Resolution
shall be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council .
