Background: Per Resolution 21-027, the City Council authorized the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation("PAEDC")to enter into a lease purchase agreement with Hewlett Packard for cabling and network solutions for 549 4th Street ("The Press Building"). A need for four additional switches, or 48 additional ports are needed to complete the project to support the capabilities of the phone, security, camera and audio visual systems in the building. Budget Impact: The cost of these four(4)additional switches is$9,759.94 and is available in account number 120-80- 625-8522-00-00-000. Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council of the City of Port Arthur approve the purchase of the four(4) additional switches for 549 4th Street("The Press Building"),to accommodate the 48 additional ports necessary to support the phone, security, camera and audio visual systems in the building. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR SECTION 4A ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TO PURCHASE FOUR (4) ADDITIONAL NETWORK SWITCHES FROM DATAVOX IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,759.94. FUNDS AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT 120-80-625-8522-00-00-000. WHEREAS,the City Council deems it is the public interest to authorize the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation (the "PAEDC") to retrofit the property located at 549 4th Street in downtown Port Arthur; and WHEREAS, Per Resolution 21-027, the City Council approved the lease purchase of network and cabling solutions from Datavox; and WHEREAS, there is a need for four (4) additional network switches that will provide forty-eight (48) additional ports that will support the phone, camera, security and audio visual systems in the building at a cost of$9,759.94. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the City Council approves the purchase of four (4) additional network switches from Datavox as needed for 549 4th Street in the amount of$9,759.94 as delineated in Exhibit"A" attached hereto. Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
