Introduction: The intent of this Agenda Item is to seek City Council's approval for the Port Arthur EDC to engage the services of Nance International, Inc. (Nance) for the replacement of the compressor sled for the HVAC system at 501 Procter Street. Background: Nance maintains the HVAC System at 501 Procter Street. It has been found and recommended that there is a need to replace the compressor sled on the main rooftop HVAC unit as the unit is working at half capacity,therefore, causing the building not to cool completely. Nance has submitted a proposal to replace the compressor sled for an amount of$11,225.00. Budget Impact: The budget impact of this item is $11,225.00, funds available in EDC Account No. 120-80-625-5312-00- 00-000. Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council of the City of Port Arthur approve engaging the services of Nance International,Inc., for replacement of the compressor sled for the HVAC System at 501 Procter Street. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR SECTION 4A ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TO ENGAGE THE SERVICES OF NANCE INTERNATIONAL, INC., OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A COMPRESSOR SLED FOR THE HVAC SYSTEM AT 501 PROCTER STREET IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $11,225.00; FUNDS AVAILABLE IN EDC ACCOUNT NO. 120-80- 625-5312-00-00-000 WHEREAS, the City of Port Arthur Section 4A Economic Development Corporation ("PAEDC") is the property owner at 501 Procter Street in Port Arthur; and WHEREAS, the property at 501 Procter Street is an approximately 19,000 square foot multi-tenant office building(the "Building"); and WHEREAS,Nance International,Inc.("Nance")maintains the Building's HVAC system; and WHEREAS, it has been found and recommended that there is a need to replace the compressor sled on the main rooftop HVAC unit as the unit is working at half capacity,therefore, causing the Building not to completely cool; and WHEREAS,Nance has submitted a proposal,Exhibit"A",to replace the compressor sled for an amount of$11,225.00 including parts and labor to install; and WHEREAS, on August 2, 2021, the PAEDC Board of Directors voted to accept the proposal by Nance to replace the compressor sled for an amount of$11,225.00 NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR,TEXAS: Section 1. That the facts and opinions in the preamble are true and correct. Section 2. That the City Council hereby authorizes PAEDC to engage the services of Nance International, Inc. for the replacement of the compressor sled on the HVAC unit for an amount of$11,225.00 Section 3. That a copy of the caption of this Resolution shall be spread upon the Minutes of the City Council.
