No.22099—Repairs to Caterpillar D8T Bulldozer, Equipment Number 2342 Introduction: Proposed Resolution No. 22099 seeks City Council's approval to repair equipment number 2342, a Caterpillar (CAT) D8T bulldozer (dozer), for the Landfill by Mustang CAT of Beaumont, Texas, in the amount of$58,491.00. Background: To operate properly and remain in compliance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the City's landfill requires the operation of the CAT D8T dozer. The dozer's tracks require repair, which has rendered the equipment inoperable. The repair of this equipment is imperative so that the landfill can remain operational and compliant. Budget Impact: Funds are provided in Account: 403-50-320-5318-00-00-000. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REPAIRS TO EQUIPMENT NO. 2342, CATERPILLAR DST DOZER, FOR THE LANDFILL BY MUSTANG CAT OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $58,491.00. FUNDS AVAILABLE IN ACCOUNT NO. 403-50- 320-5318-00-70-000. WHEREAS,The City's Landfill requires the employment of a bulldozer(dozer)to maintain operations and compliance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's (TCEQ) regulations; and, WHEREAS, equipment number 2342, a Caterpillar (CAT) D8T dozer at the Landfill requires track repairs and is therefore inoperable; and, WHEREAS,equipment number 2342 is used for major daily operations rendering its repairs necessary and immediate; and, WHEREAS, Mustang CAT of Beaumont, Texas, is able to repair equipment number 2342 for the cost of$58,491.00 as delineated in Exhibit A; and, WHEREAS,this procurement is authorized pursuant to Section 252.022(a)(3)of the Texas Local Government Code, because of unforeseen damage to public machinery, equipment or other property; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ARTHUR: THAT,the fact and opinions in the preamble are true and correct; and, THAT, the City Council hereby authorizes the repair to equipment number 2342, a Caterpillar D8T dozer, in the amount of$58,491.00, by Mustang CAT of Beaumont, Texas, as delineated in Exhibit A attached hereto; and P.
